Sensitive Dog Circle
Feel calmer. Understand your dog. Make real-life progress
Living with a sensitive, reactive or easily overwhelmed dog can be exhausting.
Maybe walks are stressful. Your dog struggles around other dogs or people, finds busy places difficult, or becomes so overwhelmed that everything seems to go out the window.
You're constantly thinking ahead, avoiding triggers and wondering whether you're doing the right thing.
Maybe you've tried classes, watched videos, read the advice and worked really hard — but you're still not quite sure what your dog needs.

Sensitive Dog Circle gives you somewhere to work it out.
It's ongoing support, practical training and guidance for people living with dogs who don't always find the world easy.
We'll look at what's happening with your dog, why it might be happening and what you can actually do about it — without expecting your dog to fit into someone else's idea of how they should behave.
No judgement. No unrealistic expectations. No one-size-fits-all training plan.
Just practical support to help you and your dog make progress in real life.
No judgement. No unrealistic expectations. Just practical help for real life.
What is Sensitive Dog Circle?
A place for sensitive, reactive dogs and the people who love them
Sensitive Dog Circle is an ongoing online membership for people who want support understanding and working with their sensitive, reactive or easily overwhelmed dog.
Each month we'll focus on a different aspect of life with these dogs, with training, discussion and practical exercises you can work through at your own pace.
And because every dog is different, you can bring your own questions, challenges and videos to the Circle.
You don't have to figure it all out on your own
Sometimes you don't need another training technique.
You just need someone to look at what's happening and help you make sense of it.
That's where I come in.
Your dog. Your real life. Your questions.
One of the most useful parts of the Circle is being able to show me what's actually happening with your dog.
Each month you can send me up to four videos for feedback.
They don't need to be polished training videos. In fact, I'd much rather see what really happens.
A walk that didn't go to plan.
Your dog struggling to settle.
Something you're not sure how to handle.
A training exercise you're stuck with.
I'll help you look at what's happening, what your dog might be telling you and where you could go next.
Because often the useful information isn't in the perfect training session.
It's in the details.
What we'll work on
Each month we'll explore a different aspect of life with a sensitive or easily overwhelmed dog.
That might include:
-
understanding what's driving your dog's behaviour
-
recognising arousal and helping your dog regulate
-
coping with triggers and difficult environments
-
building confidence
-
helping your dog settle and switch off
-
making walks easier
-
improving your dog's ability to cope with everyday life
-
understanding when to push forward — and when to take a step back
The aim isn't to give you more and more things to train.
It's to help you get better at understanding your own dog.
Because when you understand what's going on, you're in a much better position to work out what to do next.
This is for you if...
Your dog might:
-
struggle around other dogs
-
bark, lunge or become overwhelmed around people
-
find visitors or handling difficult
-
struggle in busy places or around certain noises
-
become very highly aroused
-
find it difficult to settle or switch off
-
struggle on walks
-
lack confidence in certain situations
-
cope at home but struggle in the real world
-
find traditional group classes too much
And you might simply be at the point where you're thinking:
"I know my dog isn't being difficult on purpose. I just don't know what to do next."
If that sounds familiar, you're probably in the right place.
You don't have to get everything right
Progress with sensitive dogs isn't always a straight line.
Some days things go brilliantly.
Other days your dog reacts to something they've walked past a hundred times before and you're left wondering what on earth happened.
That's normal.
We're not aiming for a perfect dog or a life where nothing ever goes wrong.
We're working towards helping your dog cope better, helping you feel more confident and making everyday life a little easier.
Small changes can make a surprisingly big difference.
